Kelly Services® Future Engineers Scholarship Awarded to First-Ever Canadian Recipient
Toronto, March 9, 2017 – Cathleen Lupien, a chemical engineering student at Dalhousie University in Halifax, is the first Canadian recipient of the Future Engineers Scholarship from Kelly Services® (Nasdaq: KELYA, KELYB). Now in its 14th year, the USD $5,000 scholarship is available to full-time, undergraduate engineering students in Canada and the United States.

To be considered, applicants must be full-time students pursuing a degree at an accredited institution of higher education in Canada or the United States and be accepted into the School of Engineering. Students must hold second or third-year undergrad status and have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale (or 3.5 on a 4.5 scale, and so forth).
In addition to having an outstanding academic performance, candidates are required to write an essay that is judged based on depth of knowledge and awareness of the issue and/or challenge addressed, as well as creativity, composition and originality. Eligible entries are first judged by the Kelly Services Review Committee with the top six finalists moving on to be judged by the Executive Review Committee, where a final winner is selected.
The announcement is being made during National Engineering Month, which is Canada’s largest celebration of engineering excellence, where volunteers from the provincial and territorial regulators host over 500 events that show Canadians how rewarding an engineering career can truly be.
