Nicola (Nikki) Soares is vice president and managing director of Kelly Educational Staffing (KES®), a specialty service of global workforce solutions provider, Kelly Services® and the largest provider of education staffing solutions to school districts in the United States. She is responsible for managing operations and driving strategic growth for KES and for Teachers On Call, a Kelly Services company with operations in Minnesota and Wisconsin, and for Substitutes Any Time, a Kelly Services company in Arizona.
As a former public school teacher, Nikki understands first-hand the education challenges that exist today and is keenly aware of the demands that many educators face including the growing teacher shortage. As an advocate for student achievement and instructional continuity in the classroom, she firmly believes in the mission of KES to serve as a valued partner with school districts.
With more than 20 years of experience in the education industry, Nikki joined Kelly Services in 2010, as vice president of KES, from NBC Universal where she led marking and sales for the NBC news education initiative, NBC Learn. Nikki also worked for the McGraw-Hill School Solutions Group and began her education career as a middle school social studies teacher in Virginia.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Science with a minor in Secondary Education from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia. Nikki serves on the governance board of Kelly’s internal business resource group, Leadership in Action (LIA). The group is dedicated to helping prepare and develop current and future leaders in the global marketplace. A passionate supporter of student preparedness for the future world of work, Nikki has spoken at industry conferences and events on this topic. In 2018, Staffing Industry Analysts named her to its annual Staffing 100 list, a recognition of the most influential people in staffing industry.
Kelly Educational Staffing marked its 20th anniversary in 2017, having grown from one client in Gulfport, Mississippi, in 1997 to partnering with more than 900 school districts across the U.S. today.
